The Great Boozy British Mystery Coach Tour

3 Days Maximum 20 People United Kingdom

Overview

Remember those magnificent British coach holidays when everyone wore name badges, the driver had a moustache and a woman with a clipboard could turn a toilet stop into a military operation? Well, we've brought them back. Nobody asked us to but here we are.

Welcome aboard Tipple Tours Executive Coach Travel, an organisation with absolutely no connection to the word "executive". Every morning brings sealed envelopes, secret destinations and increasingly ambitious announcements.

Along the way, expect beautiful countryside, fascinating local characters, ridiculous competitions, deeply unnecessary group photographs and the sort of organised fun normally prohibited under the Geneva Convention. There'll be prestigious awards, appalling souvenirs, emotional speeches and at least one passenger threatening to write to the management.

It's a proper British holiday with a wonderfully absurd twist, where every stop is a surprise, every announcement is an ordeal and the only thing taken seriously is what's in your glass.

Book with confidence. Travel in confusion.

Why This Tour is Special

  • The Magical Misery Tour: Three days of mystery destinations, ridiculous detours and Barry refusing to stop at another service station.
  • Britain's Booziest Field Trip: Six brilliant breweries, vineyards and distillery experiences. Actual quality control provided by Tipple Tours.
  • Beverley's Five-Star Hospitality: Experience luxury accommodation as described by a woman who considers a trouser press a spa facility.
  • Compulsory Organised Fun: Coach bingo, absurd competitions, terrible prizes and group photographs nobody remembers agreeing to.
  • The Golden Steering Wheel Awards: A spectacular gala celebrating outstanding achievements in complaining, drinking and asking "Are we nearly there yet?"
  • Four Highly Trained Professionals: Two expert Tipple Tours guides, one grumpy driver and Beverley who once organised a raffle without any prizes.

Tour Itinerary

Day One

Friday: Beer, Barry & the Road to Paradise

10:00am Welcome Aboard Tipple Tours Executive Coach Travel: Your mystery adventure begins aboard our comfortable coach where you'll meet your fellow travellers, two Tipple Tours guides and our legendary holiday hosts, Barry and Beverley. Collect your mystery welcome pack, complete with sealed destination clues, coach bingo and a boiled sweet of uncertain vintage. Nobody knows where we're going. Barry does but he's not telling.

12:00pm First Mystery Stop: The Great British Brewery Discovery: Our first surprise is a fantastic independent countryside brewery. Go behind the scenes, meet the brewers and discover how brilliant British beers are made, followed by a guided tasting of local favourites.

2:30pm Craft Beer Gets Creative: Our second mystery destination reveals the exciting world of modern craft beer. Discover bold flavours, unusual brewing styles and delicious independent beers in a relaxed taproom.

5:00pm Arrival at Our Magnificent Seaside Resort: After a scenic journey through Sussex, we arrive at our mystery coastal accommodation in Bognor Regis described as "the Monte Carlo of the South Coast". Settle into your own room and enjoy some free time before dinner.

7:00pm The Grand Welcome Dinner: Enjoy a delicious group dinner, classic seaside entertainment and the legendary Great British Mystery Coach Bingo Championship featuring terrible prizes and magnificent accusations of cheating. Make new friends, enjoy a few drinks and celebrate your first day of glorious organised chaos.

Day Two

Three Vineyards, Two Guides & One Woman With a Clipboard

Saturday: Three Vineyards, Two Guides & One Woman With a Clipboard

9:00am Breakfast & The Compulsory Morning Briefing: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before boarding our mystery coach for a spectacular day exploring the beautiful Sussex wine country.

10:00am The Champagne of Sussex: Our first mystery destination is a wonderful English wine estate, where we'll explore the secrets of traditional-method sparkling wine and enjoy a guided tasting of award-winning fizz. Discover why English bubbles are giving Champagne some serious competition.

12:30pm A Very Serious Wine Investigation: Our second vineyard brings gorgeous countryside, delicious English wines and a tasting that might just uncover your new favourite bottle. Test your senses in our hilarious blind-tasting challenge where "quite posh" is considered a perfectly acceptable tasting note.

2:00pm The Great British Vineyard Lunch: Relax over a delicious lunch, swap tasting discoveries and enjoy the beautiful Sussex scenery.

3:30pm The Grand Sparkling Finale: Our third vineyard delivers another fabulous tasting of English wines, surrounded by beautiful vines and rolling countryside. By now, you'll be confidently swirling, sniffing and pronouncing "terroir" incorrectly.

6:00pm Return to Our Coastal Palace: Back at our seaside resort, there's time to relax, explore the facilities or enjoy a drink before tonight's grand celebrations.

7:30pm The Golden Steering Wheel Gala Dinner: Enjoy a fantastic group dinner, seaside entertainment and our spectacular Golden Steering Wheel Awards. Compete for prestigious honours including Most Enthusiastic Wine Taster, Best Compulsory Group Photograph and Passenger Most Likely to Write to *Watchdog*.

Day Three

Spirits, Fortifications & the Final Complaint

9:00am Breakfast, Checkout & Missing Passenger Count

11:00am A Fortified Education: Our final mystery destination is a distillery. Guests explore the fascinating production of gin and rum, discover the building's military history and enjoy a guided spirits tasting.

1:00pm The Last Supper: Sunday Roast & Final Awards: We gather for a traditional Sunday roast, the perfect conclusion to three days of British culture, fine drinks and entirely unnecessary announcements.

2:30pm The Long Road Home: The Tipple Tours guides distribute certificates confirming successful completion of the Great British Executive Coach Holiday Survival Programme.

Late Afternoon Final Farewells: We arrive back at our original departure point where guests leave with new friends, genuine knowledge of Britain's brilliant breweries, vineyards and distilleries and an alarming number of photographs.

Congratulations. You've survived the Great British Mystery Coach Tour. We'd love to tell you where we're going next year but frankly, Tipple Tours hasn't decided yet.

What's Included

Two Nights' Seaside Accommodation: Your own room at a mystery coastal resort. Beverley assures us it's practically Monaco.
Executive Coach Transport: Three days aboard Barry's magnificent motorised kingdom. Complaints about the air conditioning must be submitted in triplicate.
Six Boozy Experiences: Brewery, vineyard and distillery visits with tastings. The only part of the holiday organised by competent adults.
Two Tipple Tours Guides: Your dedicated booze experts, responsible for excellent drinks and preventing Beverley from explaining fermentation.
Barry & Beverley's Personal Hospitality: One professional driver, one professional nuisance and enough unsolicited announcements to last a lifetime.
Breakfasts, Lunches & Dinners: Proper meals throughout the adventure. Barry insists that motorway pasties don't count as lunch.
Compulsory Holiday Entertainment: Coach bingo, ridiculous competitions, dreadful prizes and group photographs taken against your better judgement.
The Golden Steering Wheel Gala: A spectacular evening of awards, speeches and Beverley thanking people who have never met her.
Official Mystery Holiday Welcome Pack: Coach bingo card, sealed destination clues, luggage label and paperwork nobody will ever read.
Graduation from Barry's Holiday Survival Programme: A personalised certificate confirming you've endured three days of executive travel without contacting a solicitor.

What's Not Included

Travel to the Departure Point: Getting to Barry's coach is your responsibility. Getting away from Beverley is considerably harder.
Additional Drinks: Extra pints, wines and cocktails beyond the included tastings. Barry refuses to establish a tab.
Personal Spending: Souvenirs, snacks and anything purchased during Beverley's compulsory £3 shopping challenge.
Travel Insurance: Sensible protection against life's surprises. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover Beverley's singing.
Optional Evening Drinks: Additional refreshments during holiday-camp festivities. Bingo-related emotional support is self-funded.
Five-Star Luxury: Beverley says the resort is practically Monte Carlo. The accommodation inspectors may have a different opinion.
