Tour Itinerary
Nottingham: Caves, Castles & The First Pint
Welcome to Nottingham, a city that somehow combines Robin Hood, underground caves and some of Britain's oldest pubs. After meeting your fellow adventurers, we'll waste no time getting acquainted over a pint or two in pubs that were already serving drinks when most countries were still figuring themselves out.
We'll explore ancient taverns carved into sandstone, hear tales of highwaymen, rebels and drinkers who probably should have gone home earlier, and ease gently into the weekend ahead. By the end of the evening you'll know everyone's name, have a favourite pub and already be questioning whether "just one more" is ever a sensible phrase.
Overnight Nottingham.
Sheffield: Steel, Ale & Questionable Planning
This morning we head north to Sheffield, a city that quietly became one of Britain's greatest beer destinations while everyone else was busy arguing about football.
We'll explore legendary real ale pubs, hidden gems and character-filled drinking dens that have spent decades perfecting the art of serving excellent beer.
Expect great beer, plenty of laughs and the growing realisation that Britain may have devoted an alarming amount of its history to building pubs.
Overnight Sheffield.
York: Medieval Streets & Magnificent Pubs
If Britain built a city specifically for pub lovers, it might look a lot like York.
Behind the medieval walls lie ancient alleyways, crooked buildings and some of the country's most atmospheric drinking establishments. We'll spend the day exploring a city where history seems to appear around every corner and where many pubs have accumulated several centuries of stories, ghosts and slightly sticky carpets.
This is Britain at its finest: historic streets, fantastic pubs and enough character to fill several guidebooks. Expect memorable conversations, excellent drinks and at least one pub you'll immediately wish was your local.
Overnight York.
Knaresborough: One Last For The Road
Every great pub adventure eventually reaches the difficult stage known as "going home." Before we reluctantly return to reality, we'll make one final stop in one of Yorkshire's most picturesque towns.
Perched above the River Nidd, Knaresborough looks like somebody accidentally built a postcard. We'll explore its charming streets, admire the famous viaduct, stretch our legs after a weekend of dedicated pub research and enjoy one final drink in a traditional Yorkshire pub overlooking the water.
It's the perfect place to reflect on the weekend's achievements, including the pubs visited, the stories collected and the questionable decisions that somehow seemed perfectly reasonable at the time.
Eventually we'll return to York for farewell hugs, last-minute promises to stay in touch and the growing realisation that normal life contains far fewer historic pubs than it should.
Tour ends at York Railway Station.
Until the next round.
